Open Letter from George Davis, writer/”naked yoga guy” Please Distribute.

“I didn't know that they arrested writers in San Francisco.” said my “homeless” cellmate who didn't care if he slept on the sidewalk or a county jail cell floor in a city that didn't care either. May 1, 2008 was my sixth arrest by police by police count for public nudity to create a Free Body Culture political movement. This was my tenth arrest from a civilian perspective that any time you are in a locked police room, you are under arrest. Since nudity is not a crime in California unless a person is lewd and San Francisco juries tend to be fair and reasonable, the District Attorney has consistently discharged all citations, including this May 1 arrest. I have to admit to some past ambiguity to my efforts to create a Free Body Culture movement to end the mentally regressive nudity taboo. This time I was arrested for organizing a book signing for my new book, Weapons of Mass Deception . This is clearly a very political book that, besides advocating for a European styled FKK Free Body Culture movement, is highly critical of the San Francisco political machine, the San Francisco mayor, San Francisco Police Department, the American Military-Industrial Complex, the American Prison-Industrial Complex, and other contemporary political issues. Now, clearly, I am being arrested to suppress these ideas. On a personal level, most people consider me a quiet, polite, slightly intellectual, sometimes funny guy. If there was a line formed of people who didn't think nudity was a big deal, I could be placed in front of that line. Obviously, my arrests show that I am wrong. This is a big deal. From my field experience with public nudity, I can state that the only people who have emotional problems with public nudity are angry people, excessively authoritarian personalities, and fundamentalist religious nut cases. In San Francisco , this is at most maybe 2% of the population. Admittedly, these people are squeaky wheels. Are these the people you want to boss you around? Are these the people that you want to dominate the political sphere or your life? By the way, some of the biggest nudist supporters are thinking religious people like Pope John Paul II. If you have any critical doubts about the truth of what I have written, I hope you take efforts to learn more about nudism and the nudity taboo. I plan to add a forum page to the Internet site, www.freebodyculture.com . In fact, the first topic I would like to put up would be the answer to the question, “What irrevocable harm would befall a healthy child who saw a nude adult?” I don't have an intelligent answer. To contribute to the forum, email: george@fkkfreebodyculture.com. I plan to return to Fisherman's Wharf on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 and thereafter to the Southeast corner of Beach and Taylor by the statue of St. Francis from noon-3, weather and no schedule conflicts permitting, to continue work on educating people on the FKK Free Body Culture movement. See you there. Naturally, George Davis (415) 722-2968

We ran the camera from 6-9pm last evening to check features and quality which looks good. Join us tonight. If you don't want your name used, please say so. The idea now is to put together an evening show running an hour or so starting at around 7pm. Just local politics and our usual partying. If you can't get past my front desk clerk, you can party with us remotely. h. h brown west's LIVE INTERNET BROADCAST on Yahoo Live! http://live.yahoo.com/hbrown watch h brown and friends on video, join the chatroom, and broadcast your own camera so we can see you!

Morning boys and girls,
Doug Comstock saga continues.
Comstock's reappointment would
have been automatic if he had
been doing a shitty job. But, he
does a good job and that upsets
people like Jim Sutton, the top
elections fixer in town (who
also runs the Ethics Commission
to which no one ever appointed
him).Much to their credit the
Board has resisted pressure from
Sutton relayed through
supervisors Alioto-Pier and
Sean Elsbernd. Let's see if
they do it again.
That's on today's agenda of the
Rules committee along with a raft
of proposed Charter amendments the
Mayor and Jake McGoldrick want you
to consider.

Rules Committee (10am)

Chair: Chris Daly
Vice Chair: Bevan Dufty
Member: Tom Ammiano
Item # 3 ... Sunshine Task Force
appointments As mentioned, Comstock
is under gun from the 'moderates'
again. There are 2 appointments
and attorney David Waggonershould
get the nod for the second seat.
Luddite/computerphobe David Pilpel
should get the boot for being an
obstructionistwho hinders the process.
Ray Hartz Jr.is a passionate advocate
who'd bring sparks and the final
applicant (Knoebber) has no
qualifications whatsoever.
Item # 5 ... Requiring Assessor to
report reducing someone's taxes
What a great idea. Had this
measure (sponsored by Sandoval, Daly
and Peskin) been in place earlier,
Mabel Teng would probably still be
our Assessor. Get this one to the Full
Board asap.

Item # 6 ... "performance of public
service
by private entities"
This one comes from da Mirk and opens
a real can of worms. How many
times have you heard the Board's Budget
Analyst repeat the mantra: "concurs
that the service could be done more
cheaply" by privatizing public
positions? But, does service decline?

Item # 9 ... More staff for members of
Board of supes Last I looked the Mayor
had something like 600 special assistants
to aid him. Board members have 2 each
(down from 3) and they deserve that
third aide back.

Item # 10 ... Mayor appoints City
Treasurer?
What the hell's McGoldrick thinking
on this one? Increasing the power of the
already imperial Mayor? Better to require
that anyone running for the office
have at least a degree in accounting.
We've had some real buzz kill in this
office and allowing the Mayor to appoint
the individual will insure more.

Item # 11 ... Establishing a Public Works
Commission Again, Jake McGoldrick's
suggestion but this one rocks. You think
the Taxi Commission rocked? Imagine the
lines at Public Comment for this group.
Got a pothole problem?

Item # 27 ... No more set-asides
This one is from the Mayor and is aimed
directly at preventing the poor from
having a place to live. Coming on the
heels of the just passed Lennar giveaway
of 720 acres for exclusionary market-rate
housing it's particularly cruel. I mean,
hey, Gavin loves set-asides for the cops.

Missing Item ... Mandatory steroids testing
for all SFPD personnel, uniformed and
civilian.

This one is a measure whose time has come.
Why'd no one put it forward?

City Operations and Neighborhood Services
(1pm)

Chair: Carmen Chu
Vice Chair: Jake McGoldrick
Member: Sean Elsbernd

This is the wet blanket committee and
today's items # 6 thru 8 fully support
that evaluation. Three guys go
outside a nightclub for a smoke break.
Two are arrested by the police under
these proposed ordinances.Which ones
are arrested and why?

The black guy is arrested for being
black. The gay guy is arrested
for being gay. The cops already
regularly do this but now it's
even more legal? It is purely
idiotic to discourage entertainment
in a city that claims it is an
entertainment capitol.

Hillary for Secretary of State!

Sandoval for Judge
